As an author of help files, whether now creating helpfiles for multimedia - or for program auxiliary, you might finally recognize the restrictions of the hypertext medium "helpfile". For some problems, software engineers managed a solution...-
Printing helpfiles is a cumbersome topic. The control-codes must usually be removed with effort manually. Graphics have to be inserted manually, a content- and index-list have to be generated manually and so on.
Our solution for this is called Help to RTF: you generate your help files as you did, compilate them and finally translate the compilated files with Help to RTF, which creates a professional manual out of them. With the redistributable version of Help to RTF that action can even be performed on the machine of the user running your (shareware) program. - Online Publishing of Help files is usually done by converting them to HTML. A better solution is our free winhelpcgi program doing on the fly conversion of .hlp files on the web server so they can be read with any normal browser. After a simple installation process on your web server, new versions of your help files can simply be published by uploading the modified .hlp file. No further know-how is required! Click here for an impressive online-demonstration what can be achieved.
